Comfort Inn Hobart-Merrillville

This place is by far a 5 star hotel. But it’s decent for the money. Has an indoor pool, 24 hour fitness room, 2 washers and 2 dryer. Staff is friendly and they stay out of your business. I would recommend.

The 5-star rating is based on a two-star hotel rating, though there wasn't much more a three- or four-star hotel could have provided over what this hotel did. We had reservations and paid for a room at Hilton a few miles away. There was a power outage in that area, their computers were down, and we could not be logged in, and I was told I had to figure out how to get a refund from Hilton. The hotel next door to Hilton had rooms on the second floor, but the elevator was out of service. So, we ended up at Comfort Inn a few miles away. Wish we would have started here. Much cheaper, very nice hotel staff, and the room was very clean and comfortable. A free continental breakfast was available, but we did not take advantage of it.

Very comfortable bed, clean room, hot breakfast, nice staff. Location is great...right off the highway. Definitely would stay here again.

Super easy to find, right off the highway. The staff was AMAZING with anything I needed. I paid $80 for a 1 bed room, and it honestly could have been a little nicer for the price. The shower drain was missing, but the shower still functioned fine. It was just visually a little uncomfortable. However, the room was clean and smelled good, it wasn't too noisy, breakfast was fantastic, and the overall experience was relaxing. A good hotel for an inexpensive price!

I love this hotel. It looks nice and neat. Very clean. Maria is absolutely amazing. She lights up the room when you see her. She is so welcoming and makes you feel like family. 10/10 experience.

My husband and I decided to have a lil 3 day vacation with our 19 year old son, his wife and their newborn. When I was looking for hotels my only expectations were a heated indoor pool and breakfast in the morning. *I love the homemade waffles*. When I saw for 4 people, 2 Queen size beds, pool and complimentary hot breakfast it was only $250,..I was sold. Lol The only thing I put absolutely 0 thought into was the fact that the description didn't say "heated indoor pool", it only said "indoor pool". There's a difference. I will say, the photos of the room and the pool are misleading. The photos make the pool look much nicer and bigger, the rooms look much newer and more kept up. But they're definitely older rooms. The room is super decent tho. It's clean, the beds are so comfy, the air worked, it's just not as modern as the photos make it look. The breakfast was good. The waffles were so good and there were lots of other options. The eggs and sausage were not so good lol but everything else was. The staff here are really nice. It's really quiet(at least so far on a Wednesday night and Thursday, we'll see how tonight and tomorrow go ) it's To me, one downside is you're kind of in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive at least 5-10 minutes to get anywhere. (Like Walmart or other restaurants, but there is a Wendy's, McDonald's, Arby's and a gas station right in the same parking lot as Comfort Inn). You can always order Uber/Instacart. For the price, everything was perfect. There were no bed bugs, no roaches, nothing like that. The only thing that would make me not stay again, is the ice cold pool lol. It was a cozy spot to be with my husband, son, his girl, and our beautiful new grandbaby for 3 days Thanks for having us!!

Well worth the $156... Teens loved the pool which had inflatable toys Room was very clean no smells..beds made..pillows fluffy Check in and out was a breeze all staff was accommodating and friendly... genuinely. Breakfast wasn't the best but honestly did not even care seeing as everything else went above and beyond. I cannot stress enough how clean everything was and professional and friendly staff was

First of all, HUGE shoutout to Antonia for all her help and wonderful personality! She made my (unplanned) stay the most pleasant experience possible and frankly after such a long journey, having someone who was so nice meant so much so thank you very much Antonia for being such a wonderful part of my stay Second of all, the hotel was very nice. The pool was huge though fair warning the kiddos who were having fun left the floor a little wet and even with the wet floor signs, I too would like to mention that being careful is needed haha the elevator is small and slow but super cute and well placed at the center of the hotel. The view from the room I had was beautiful. I woke up to one of the most beautiful skies I've ever seen! I will definitely be using this hotel again as long as Antonia is working there lol
